Asbestos Awareness training is a legal requirement under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 for anyone who could foreseeably disturb asbestos while carrying out their normal, everyday work and for their supervisors who influence how such work is carried out.
- General maintenance staff, electricians, heating, ventilation and telecommunications engineers and IT installers together with their supervisors (including cleaning supervisors) and laboratory managers
- Further details regarding OHSS’ eligibility criteria are available
- To cover the properties of asbestos, its effects on health, where it could be found in buildings
- To know how to prevent exposure by using safe working practices
- To know what to do in an emergency
