Leadership Network - Launch Session

Network Launch Session Jess Gardner will launch the new Leadership Network at the two following sessions. The launch has been split between the two dates to accommodate the need for cover in Libraries and Departments. Therefore you only need to sign up for one launch session. The new network will be launched at two sessions. The launch has been split between the two dates to accommodate the need for cover in Libraries and Departments. Therefore you only need to sign up for one launch session. However, if possible can you hold both slots in your diary in case we need to balance the numbers between the two dates. 21 November 14:00 – 16:00 – Milstein Room 26 November 09:30-11:30 – Milstein Room (please note this is in place of the scheduled SMG meeting) The programme detail for the session will follow. Network Goals: 1. To create structured opportunities to improve communication across our teams. 2. To help build a community of practice, sharing ideas and experience, round leadership and management for the University Libraries beyond the more formal structures of the Senior Management Group and Leadership Team. 3. Booker Briefings for All Staff

On the 30th September, the University Libraries began using Booker as the new booking system for meeting rooms across the Libraries. To walk staff through the new system and to answer any questions, Rob Smith from UIS will be hosting a Booker Briefing for All Staff on Monday 25th November at 2pm - 4pm in the Milstein Room, and Thursday 5th December at 10am - 12pm. These sessions are drop ins, so please pop along between these times as most suitable for you! Both Briefings will be the same and are open drop in events. |

Dates: 24th and 25th February 2020 (Attendance at both days is essential) Times: 09:00 – 16:30 Venue: Training Room at UL Course Leaders: Sheila Wotherspoon Objectives: To explore the role of an effective manager To outline the expectations of CUL managers To understand the value of a feedback culture and openness to feedback at all levels of the organisation To explore the skills required for effective communication, including active listening, questioning and feedback To understand the role of coaching in effective line management To provide an opportunity to practice the skills required to coach, give feedback and hold a challenging conversation |
