PGRO: Intermission Session For Staff Who Support PGR Students (In Person Face to Face)
This course will explore considerations for medical and non-medical intermission, with a focus on supporting postgraduate research students who need to take a break from study.
Sessions will be given by members of the Postgraduate Research Office, the International Student Office, Student Registry, the Student Fees and Funding Policy team, and the Student Wellbeing Service.
Topics covered include:
- introduction to intermission, when it is appropriate, and the application process
- advising and supporting students who might need intermission
- supporting students during intermission and when returning to study
- considerations for student visa holders
- implications for funding
University or College staff involved in supporting postgraduate research students to apply for intermission, including:
- Supervisors of postgraduate research students
- Department Postgraduate Administrators and Directors of Postgraduate Education
- College Postgraduate Administrators and Postgraduate Tutors
- Degree Committee Administrators, Secretaries and Chairs
Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available. This session is not suitable for students.
