Development and Alumni Relations: Partners in Philanthropy (virtual) New
Partners in Philanthropy is a workshop for all development support staff, that provides a greater understanding of the concepts that make up the development process. Participants discover key elements of identifying their role in development, understanding donor motivations, and exploring how to better support the development process. The workshop also provides an understanding of development vocabulary and creates the foundation necessary to support a cohesive culture of philanthropy throughout the organisation.
The workshop will cover:
- Introduction: A brief overview of the workshop, including the research and concepts that serve as its foundation, as well as the process of donor development and the roles of different team members.
- Understanding Donor Motivation: Participants gain understanding of the development process from the perspectives of donors.
- Becoming a High-Performance Team Member: Participants learn guidelines and skills for building trust-based relationships with both internal and external constituents.
- Adapting to Donor Profiles: Participants learn how to identify the profiles of others and explore different personality styles and techniques for communicating with donors (and colleagues) more effectively.
- Creating a Gratifying Gifting Experience: Participants explore methods for ensuring donors feel appreciated and valued, and gain understanding of how to set the stage for future contributions.
