This highly participative workshop will help you develop your ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. In order to be successful in your PhD and academia, you need to be able to communicate and work successfully with others. This one day workshop will help you develop your communication skills in order to engage more effectively with your supervisor, peers, and wider networks.

- Assess your communication style and the need to adapt to different stakeholders and situations
- Explore the communication process
- Discuss common communication problems and identify suitable solutions
- Identify initial options for reducing the risk of and dealing dealing with conflict
- Review a framework helping to give and receive constructive feedback
- Identify ways to be more assertive and manage expectations
- Discuss the critical communication skills leading to successful teamwork and collaboration
