IT Training

Welcome to the University Computing Service's Training Programme.

Our IT Training is predominately free of charge to current University staff and students. The training is delivered in various formats on a variety of themes. The majority of our instructor-led courses are entirely hands-on, whilst others take the form of a lecture followed by a practical, and a few consist of a lecture only. Any instructor-led course that is scheduled will have one or more associated training event dates. The majority of the instructor-led courses are one-half day session and are largely held at the New Museums Site, but there are exceptions. Please check each training event's details.

Self-taught courses, manuals and leaflets on particular packages are also available from University Computing Services for those unable to attend instructor-led training events.

Bookings made on this website require a Raven account which is available to current staff and students of the university and also an email address. At the time of booking it is advisable to supply a telephone number in case we cannot contact you by email. If you do not have a Raven account and are a current staff or student member of the university, you must apply and receive one before booking on the training event. Please see Raven information & documentation for more information.

Most courses assume basic computing skills. Courses suitable for beginners i.e. requiring no previous experience are marked appropriately, as are those with more specific prerequisites. For further details see the individual training details.

Other courses are available to members of the University. See other training providers.

We welcome any suggestions you might have on aspects of Computing Service training courses such as the range offered, publicity, booking procedure or specific courses. Please send feedback to course-admin@ucs.cam.ac.uk
