Description

Course will be delivered online.

This course is the continuation of the introduction level to Persian Language and Culture. The focus is on every day and real-time, oral/aural communication. Each course features a functional-notional syllabus and grammar points are analysed in context.

  • Shopping, Understanding the price;
  • Describing countries, cities;
  • Talking about the past; Telling about the weekend.
  • Offering, refusing, and accepting;
  • At the airport: at the passport desk; At customs; In the arrivals hall;
  • At the hotel: Finding a suitable hotel room; Checking in at the hotel;
  • Reading short texts in Persian
  • Ordering tea, coffee and other drinks
  • Making requests
  • Asking and Giving Address
  • Giving instructions and orders (using imperative)
  • Talking about routine day
Objectives

Objectives: By the end of the Course students will be able to:

  • Listening/Speaking: Understand basic instructions or take part in a

basic factual conversation on a predictable topic.

  • Reading: Understand a set of basic notices, instructions or

information.

  • Writing: Complete forms, write words, a whole sentence and a

paragraph.

Aims

Aims:

  • To further develop a basic understanding and an appreciation of the salient linguistic features;
  • To establish the learner as a fairly confident language user in a range of every-day predictable situations;
  • To introduce students to the cultural background of the Iranians within the context of language teaching.
