Publisher 2016: Creating Professional Publications

Description

Do you want to create more professional publications by having a deeper appreciation of what Publisher can do for you? Through a series of graded exercises this course focuses on practical work giving you ample opportunity to use your PC skills to produce various publications. Please note that this course is largely about learning the software rather than design.

Target audience
  • All current University members (departments and colleges)
  • Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available
Prerequisites

Basic computer skills i.e. familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse although this course assumes little or no knowledge of the software.

Topics covered
  • Understand concepts essential to the use of Publisher and desk top publishing
  • Start, navigate and work with Microsoft Publisher
  • Work with text, shapes, images and tables
  • Use layout and page techniques to enhance publications
  • Perform a mail merge in Microsoft Publisher

A mix of instructor led presentations, demonstrations and practicals
