Project Management CoP: Project retrospectives (lessons learned)

In recent years retrospectives has taking over from lessons learned, in many ways they serve the same purpose; to review ways of working in a project. However when you say lessons learned you immediately imagine a meeting where the objective is to discuss what went wrong with the project. Project retrospectives have a more positive connotation from the agile principles of teamwork, collaboration, and celebrating successes and can happen throughout the project.
