This course provides an introduction to working safely with sealed radioactive sources (a sealed source contains radioactive material and is manufactured in such a way that the material cannot be dispersed).

Practical guidance on record keeping, storage, transport, risk assessment, typical control measures and monitoring. Legislation, responsibilities and roles in radiation protection.
To provide users of sealed radioactive sources with core information and instruction as required by the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999 and the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010. Please note that practical training should be provided within departments.
