Join this workshop to learn about working in teams and the best ways to collaborate for impact. The ability to work well in teams is an important skill to develop in research and beyond. We will cover the following:
- Your experience to date and lessons learnt
- Characteristics of effective research teams
- Spotlight on
- Setting SMART goals and milestones
- Recognising TEAM roles and our preferences
- The role of communication for success
- Reflection on our shared experience and next steps
The workshop, facilitated by Natacha Wilson, is highly engaging and requires active participation. This is a safe place to share your experience and learn from peers.
This training is provided free of charge to postgraduate researchers, however, the cost of providing the course is £30 per participant.

This workshop is run by an external trainer and places are limited. If you are unable to attend please ensure you cancel your place, or contact us at researcher.development@admin.cam.ac.uk, at least 24hrs in advance so we can allocate your place to another student.

Natacha is the founder of Cambridge Insights, specialising in leadership and strategy development within research-intensive environments. Her approach integrates leadership development, coaching, and innovation to support researchers throughout their academic journey. Natacha has worked with Russell Group Universities, academies, and research centres, helping researchers tackle critical challenges and achieve meaningful outcomes through action learning sets.
With a background in Economics and Social Sciences from Paris, Natacha’s career began in the high-tech and innovation sectors. She later developed leadership programmes at the University of Cambridge, designing a framework for evaluating training and development initiatives. Since founding Cambridge Insights in 2015, Natacha has created tailored programmes that enhance leadership skills and drive innovation. She is also a mentor for the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship Development Network.
