Becoming a Productive Writer (Life Sciences)

As a researcher, you are expected not only to run experiments, but also write regularly. Establishing a writing regular routine can be difficult, especially when experiments are running well. This half day workshop will explore the different writing techniques, tips and tricks, productive writers use regularly to keep on track with their writing commitments.

Target audience

Masters and First Year PhD students in Life Sciences. This course is most effective for those starting to write their first year report or dissertation.

Come prepared to do some work and make a start with your writing!

Participative workshop including provision of information, discussion and practical exercises.


One 2 hour session

There will not be a scheduled break in this session, so you are encouraged to go to the Whale Café on your way in and pick up a drink. If you show your University card, you will get a small discount!


This course is scheduled to run once in Michaelmas term and multiple times in Lent and Easter terms.
