Postdocs: Solving Research Problems Creatively New
While we might assume that creativity is a fixed innate ability – stereotypically leading to the creation of poems and paintings – in the context of our research, the creative thinking process that underpins creativity can be seen as a skill to be developed to solve problems large and small. Indeed, with this creative thinking process at the heart of research, research itself can be viewed as an inherently creative act.

Dr Geraint Wyn Story is a freelance training consultant and founder of Cambridge Training Associates Ltd. After his postgraduate studies in Cambridge, he managed a research group in a biotech company and then moved into learning and development for researchers as one of the researcher development consultants in Cambridge. After six years he started his own business in 2014, and now trains in the higher education and corporate sectors across the world.
