Description


The purpose of the Masterclasses is for leaders and managers in the University to learn about different aspects of leadership from the diverse and broad ranging experiences of our speakers, and to hear how different people operate in their role as a leader in a variety of different and often challenging situations.

The target audience for the Masterclass series is those who are undertaking (or have previously undertaken) a leadership or management development programme within the University – the sessions aim to complement the learning from these programmes.

Target audience
  • University staff who have attended leadership and management programmes
  • Those with responsibility for other staff
  • Participation is by invite only
  • If places remain available closer to the date of the event these will be offered on a first come first served basis to other members of staff of the University who have expressed an interest

About the presenter


* As deputy head of the Science and Innovation Network (SIN), Dr Hennessey works with over 90 officers in 31 countries, building partnerships and collaborations with the UK. As well as dealing with the challenges of multiple time zones, many nationalities (and even more personalities!), Dr Hennessey is part of a leadership structure that includes two Whitehall departments, over 30 embassies, High Commissions and Consulates, several Chief Scientific Advisers and numerous policy leads. She will share some of what she has learnt about leading (and being led) in this complex, but exciting, environment.
