Description
  • This course has been commissioned by the UIS and is delivered by a third party company.
  • The course provides an accredited Lean Practitioner qualification. The course involves a 2-day face to face training session followed by completion of a 6-week project.
Target audience
Prerequisites
  • In order to gain a place on the course the following criteria will apply
    • Staff member who has attended the Introduction to Lean in HE (Yellow Belt Equivalent) course
    • Completion of an open-book "yellow belt" on-line test (this will then provide yellow belt accreditation). The necessary details for this will be provided a few weeks prior to the course, once your place has been confirmed
    • Commitment to attend on the specified dates

Objectives

Completing the course will provide you with:

  • An enhanced knowledge of Lean principles and the ability to apply these to your sphere of influence in your organisation
  • Identify and carry out a Continuous Improvement (CI) Project using: Recognise, Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control (R-DMAIC)
  • Recognise and be able to apply a range of improvement tools and techniques and understand their relevance to R-DMAIC
  • LCS Certification for Lean Practitioner after completing the 2 days and a 6 week Continuous Improvement project
