Targeting Schools and Students for Widening Participation Events New
Cambridge Admissions Office has organised a series of briefing sessions in the coming weeks aimed at Schools Liaison Officers, Faculty/Department Outreach Staff, and any academics and staff members who will communicate with potential students.
This will be a practical session, which will explore different methods of identifying schools and students who meet widening participation targeting criteria. This session will focus on using tools available to identify these students, and the datasets CAO has available for members of University staff wishing to run UK based widening participation events.
- College SLOs/Admissions Staff
- Faculty/Department staff with outreach, widening participation, recruitment or admissions roles
- University staff who are interested in running public engagement events or activities with a pre-undergraduate audience.

- Broaden understanding of what widening participation is
- Improve targeting and selection methods for recruitment events and widening participation activity across the University
- Improve knowledge and awareness of tools and datasets available for members of University staff to use to target schools and students.
