Description

Nordic Walking is suitable for everyone and:

  • Uses 90% of the skeletal muscles
  • Burns 20-40% more Calories than walking
  • Lessens the impact on knees and joints
  • Is great for neck, shoulders and back
  • Combines exercise and being in the outdoors, which has been proven to boost mood and relieve stress.

Come and try Nordic Walking with instructor Samantha Godfrey. A fun session is guaranteed!

Target audience

Staff and students at the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge.

Aims

To try Nordic Walking and experience how it may help contribute to wellbeing.

Format

Brief presentation in the Bragg Committee Room, followed by practical outdoors tryout.

Notes
  • Sticks are provided.
  • Wear sensible clothing for the weather and shoes that are comfortable to walk in.
