Tableau Server is an online application available to all members of the university to access Tableau dashboards and visualisations
Tableau Explorer is intermediate level access to Tableau Server and allows you to view, interact and edit Tableau content.
This course is intended for those who have already requested access to Tableau Server as an ‘Explorer’ and those who are interested in requesting access to Tableau Server as an ‘Explorer’.
In order to book onto this, you must either have completed or will complete the "Tableau for Viewers" course first.

There will be the opportunity to learn how to use Tableau Server as an explorer, to view, interact and edit a variety of visualisations and Tableau content.
- Create and save your own visualisations using research data sources
- Explore different visualisations and the marks card
- Create your own filters, hierarchies, calculated fields and groups
- Combine predefined analytics and/or quick table calculations with your own calculated fields
- Understand the order of operations in Tableau Server
- Learn how to format workbooks
- Create effective business dashboards and stories
Online via teams. Demonstration and practical.
2 hours (Demonstration to last approx. 45 minutes followed by 1¼ hour of practical exercises for attendees to work through at their own pace, during which time support will be available and there is an opportunity to ask questions of both trainers)
